Cannabis information is expanding exponentially  as social acceptance for the plant grows. As knowledge grows, so too do the various types of cannabis, commonly known as strains. 

As a trailblazing innovator in cannabis extraction, ABX demonstrated how to use CO2 to extract distillate cannabis oil way back in 2018. Since then, extraction tech has continued to evolve, and today at ABX, we use a variety of techniques and solvents, including ethanol.

Cannabis is a complex plant containing hundreds of compounds essential to creating each strain's unique effects. Cannabis oil contains many of those beneficial , aromatic and flavor properties in full spectrum, or full plant, oil. Creating high-quality full spectrum oil is a labor of love, requiring ample amounts of sourcing and meticulous lab testing along the way.

The legend of 420 goes all the way back to Fall of 1971 in San Rafael, CA. It begins with five homies (Dave Reddix, Larry Schwartz, Steve Capper, Mark Gravitch and Jeffrey Noel) from Marin County, CA named the Waldos.

In the cannabis community, 7/10 has become an unofficial second holiday; the first being 4/20 (or 4:20 if you celebrate on the daily). If 4/20 is cannabis Christmas, 7/10 is like cannabis Flag Day. It’s not really that widely celebrated, but extraction enthusiasts, like flag enthusiasts, really want it to be taken seriously. So what’s the deal with 710? How did it get started? The story of 710 can’t be told without first telling the story of 420.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found within the cannabis plant. The acid forms of these compounds, like THCA and CBDA, are naturally synthesized within the plant. Through a process called decarboxylation, these cannabinoids are converted to the forms that we are most familiar with, like THC and CBD. Decarboxylation is achieved either slowly over time through the drying and curing process, or quickly via heat.

Simply put, live resin is a cannabis concentrate made from flower that hasn’t been cured or dried like the majority of cannabis products to retain the terpenes and flavors. Instead, freshly picked buds are frozen immediately after harvest to preserve the full flavor profile of the strain before extraction.
